A Quick Heads-Up for Drivers: When following Google Maps, make sure only to turn in at the road between the National Lanka Finance PLC and the Commercial Bank (turning point on Google Maps), directly off the main road in town. Just follow the sign boards from there :)

Google Maps otherwise likes to play tricks and redirect people down a side road that leads straight to a dead end!

Please let us know if you can make it by August 15th!

Dress Code

Keep it comfy!

Watercolour illustration of wedding guests dressed in warm, earthy tones

Wear whatever makes you feel good, look nice, and most importantly, lets you eat comfortably and hit the dance floor.

A Note on Colors to Avoid: Please leave white and black for the bride and groom, and skip blue altogether for the day!

Having you there to celebrate with us is honestly the best gift we could ask for!

But if you still wish to give us something... as far as physical gifts go, we're completely full—we would prefer no boxed gifts, if possible :)

Snippets from our journey so far

Virtual Wooing

Asel found his way into Nileshi's Instagram DMs in early April 2024. Much of the courting process involved claims of household chore skills (Spoiler: all lies. He cannot in fact sweep a house perfectly, nor has he ever cut grass).

Deja Vu 🤯

We were freaked out to realize that both sets of parents had the exact same occupations. And the more they spoke, the more they learned that they had too much in common.

First Date at the Zoo 🦒

Nileshi was insistent that the zoo be date #1. Asel was so nervous that the first half of said date was spent ignoring Nileshi to read enclosure signs out loud (“silver pheasant”////).

He redeemed himself later that day, however, surprising Nileshi with books at a fancy dinner—where she was completely overwhelmed and slightly self-conscious of smelling of zebra.

Barista Hopping ☕

Unfortunately for Asel, he met Nileshi amidst her finals—so a bulk of the dates were at Barista outlets. Asel would work devotedly by her side while Nileshi would hog a full conference table with her drawing sheets.

They pride themselves on having visited a record number of Baristas across Colombo.

Already Legal 💍

While the 28th of Augustis the official marriage ceremony and celebration, they've already registered their marriage—making it legal on the 2nd of Julyon the balcony of Nileshi's childhood home.

Asel's appachchi and Nileshi's ammi signed as the witnesses and they were surrounded by love that day.

Endorsed by Chooti Poos 🐈

From the first day Asel visited Nileshi's place, chooti poos laid claim on him. He has since been her boyfriend too.

Chooti unfortunately won't be brought to the wedding due to the risk of her trying to run away with the groom. Although she can't be there, we really hope YOU can!
